Stylistically, the large cetral window adds a lot of class (and reduces shipping weight, too!). A creative craftsman could use this as a unique picture frame or clock case with just a little work.
This piece was made by Sarsaparilla Design, a metal foundry in West New York, NJ, that recently went out of business after over 50 years of production. I was able to acquire some of their older work, including this piece.
