Please note: the pictures here show the correct figure (cart and horse and driver) but it has only one screw on the base.
This large, stylish figurine shows the classic harness racing form -- a man on a two wheeled cart pulled by a graceful, high-stepping horse. It is fairly thin, almost bas-relief, and is intended to use a wood base for support (hence the two screws on the base.) -- very easy to find or make.

This piece was made by Sarsaparilla Design, a metal foundry in West New York, NJ, that recently went out of business after over 50 years of production. I was able to acquire some of their older work, including this piece.

This piece has been stored in a warehouse for years, and some oxidation is natural. the piece is otherwise in perfect condition.
