Our Three Graces is inspired by Antonio Canova’s Neo-Classical marble sculpture The Three Graces. The graces represent the mythological three charites, daughters of Zeus – identified on some engravings of the statue as, from left to right, Euphrosyne, Aglaea and Thalia - who were said to represent beauty, charm and joy. The Graces presided over banquets and gatherings primarily to entertain and delight the guests of the Gods. They were also the handmaidens of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. The Canova original can be seen at the Hermitage Museum in St.Petersburg, Russia. This piece will arrive in whitewear if no finish is ordered.
