Standing Anubis Statue
Anubis is one of the most important gods in the Egyptian pantheon. Thought to be either the son of Set and Nephthys or Osiris and Nephthys, Anubis works alongside Osiris in the Afterlife. His role is too not only help embalm the recently departed, making them a mummy, but then to breath life into their ka (soul) and escourt the deceased to the Hall of Judgement. There before Osiris, the lord of the Underworld, the deceased would then be judged on their previous life. If they are proved worthy, they are then permitted to live on in the underworld. If not...they are swallowed whole and their name and life is forgotten.
