"The distinctive zebra, an herbivorous hoofed mammal of the African plains, has not been successfully domesticated as a mount or work animal, despite attempts. Extensive hunting for the striped hides, which serve as camouflage from enemy lions or leopards, has reduced their numbers. Zebras form their own herds or mingle with other peaceful grazers including antelopes, wildebeests and ostriches. Zebra stallions gather small harems of mares. Single foals are born in spring."

I bought this item at a "going out of business sale" in Freeport, NY, in May 2000.
This figurine is brand new and still in the original box. It is in mint condition (tho' the box is a little worn.)
