A kouros is a statue of a young male which dates to Archaic Greek. The Ancient Greek word kouros meant a male youth, and is used by Homer to refer to young soldiers. Kouros are almost always nude, although some have belts or boots, as our Kouros stautue does. Kouroi are sometimes called "Apollos" for all Kouroi originally depicted as the ideal youth….Apollo. This piece will arrive in whitewear if no finish is ordered.
